Review of the Kinto Unitea a V60 compatible teapot

Building on my experience with the Kinto insulated bottle, I began to take an interest in this Japanese brand’s products. That’s how I discovered a really interesting glass teapot: the Kinto Unitea One Touch. It offers several characteristics that distinguish it from other glass teapots I’ve come across.

Design of the Kinto teapot

Available in 720 ml and 460 ml formats affiliate link, its design is simple and functional. First good point: the system that holds the tea during infusion. The Kinto doesn’t use a classic basket system to brew the tea. Thus, the tea is not “compacted” during infusion (as for example with Bodum carafes affiliate link), which allows better tea brewing while offering a wide opening facilitating its cleaning. For cleaning, a sponge can be easily inserted for thorough cleaning. The teapot is also dishwasher safe and, thanks to its shape, it doesn’t retain water, thus avoiding stains.

In fact, this wide opening allows transforming this teapot into a carafe for the Hario V60 affiliate link. Thus, with this Kinto, you have a 2-in-1 system allowing you to brew tea or coffee (provided you have a V60 or equivalent).

As someone who loves tea as much as coffee, I can tell you that I am very satisfied with my purchase. This carafe serves me equally well for brewing V60s and tea, tea that I often bring to work with an insulated bottle.
