Eureka Mignon Coffee Grinder Review

Discover our detailed test of the Eureka Mignon electric coffee grinder, ideal for coffee lovers who want to enjoy quality espresso without wasting time.
With its 50 mm flat steel burrs and programmable timer, this appliance combines contemporary design, optimal performance and low coffee retention.
Simplify your morning routine with a grinder that adapts perfectly to your needs.
Do you love coffee but are rushed in the morning? Do you often have guests over or don’t feel like grinding coffee by hand?
Then, like me, you’ve probably considered purchasing an electric coffee grinder.
Like manual grinders, there are many models at all prices and of varying quality. Some are optimized for espresso, others for filter coffee.
I was looking for a discreet, aesthetic grinder with low retention, at a reasonable price, compatible with my machines: La Pavoni and Lelit 41TEM.
After research, one name comes up often: the Eureka Mignon.

The Eureka Mignon has 50 mm flat steel burrs, weighs 4.6 kg (which ensures good stability) and, according to many tests, offers low retention.
Its programmable timer allows you to grind the same amount of coffee every time, simply by pressing the portafilter on the trigger.

The burrs

The burrs of the Eureka Mignon are 50 mm and are easily replaceable for around €30.
They offer:
- External diameter: 50 mm
- Internal diameter: 31 mm
- Thickness: 8 mm
The grind is consistent, ideal for espresso, and does not excessively heat the coffee.
Noise level is reasonable compared to other grinders.
Timer adjustment
Adjustment is done via a small retractable dial.
Once adjusted, it becomes almost invisible, which preserves the aesthetics of the grinder.

Timer consistency
I performed a test with the same setting and weighed the coffee obtained each time:
Measurement | Weight (g) |
---|---|
M1 | 12.19 |
M2 | 12.07 |
M3 | 12.04 |
M4 | 12.22 |
➡ Variation of about 0.2 g, which remains very acceptable.
Grind Fineness Adjustment
The fineness adjustment is stepless (without clicks), offering great freedom.
⚠ No markings to find a precise setting: I added a marker pen mark to keep track.

Daily Use
The integrated support allows you to place the portafilter during grinding.
I tested with two diameters: 57 mm (Lelit 41 TEM) and 51 mm (La Pavoni Europiccola) → both fit well.
Personally, I prefer holding the portafilter to better distribute the grounds, which is essential for quality espresso.
Conclusion
- Beautiful grind quality for espresso
- Low retention
- Compact and elegant design
- Versatile
- Imprecise timer
- No markings on the grind adjustment dial (although it is possible to purchase a kit to improve it)
If you have a budget of around €350, the Eureka Mignon offers excellent value for money and will be perfectly suited for home use focused on espresso.
